To reverse a vehicle out of a space
  • 1He carefully backed out of the driveway.
  • 2She backed out of the parking spot slowly.
When you move a car backwards to leave a parking spot, you are driving in reverse to exit the space. The car goes the opposite way from where it was facing, slowly moving out so you can leave the area safely.
